  77.   The DRAFT CHOICE Disk should contain the following Files:

  87.    To install the program follow the instructions below:
  88.  
  89.    1. Start your computer and make sure you are at the dos prompt.
  90.    2. Insert the DRAFT CHOICE diskette in Drive A or B.
  91.    3. Type A: (or B:, depending on step 2, above) and press ENTER
  92.    4. Type INSTALL, press ENTER and follow the on-screen instructions.

  94. STARTING THE PROGRAM

  96. DRAFT CHOICE is started from DOS using the command:
  97.  
  98.   A>  DC /Option1/Option2/Option3/.....     [ENTER]

  102. ON-DISK USER'S MANUAL
  103. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  104. The installation process extracts a file called DC20.MAN.  This is a 
  105. ready-to-print user's manual that you can use for evaluating your 
  106. shareware copy of DRAFT Choice.  (Note that this is not a substitute for 
  107. the 200+ page bound professional manual you receive when you register 
  108. the program)
  109.  
  110. The on-disk user's manual has been formatted to print properly on most 
  111. dot matrix and laserjet printers. 
  112.  
  113. Once you have completed the installation of the program, you may print 
  114. the user's manual using the DOS COPY command, e.g.,
  115.  
  116.        COPY  DC20.MAN  PRN 
  117.  
  118. Please, make sure you have at least 80 sheets of paper available in 
  119. your printer before you issue the above command.

  122. NEW FEATURES (NOT IN THE MANUAL)
  123. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  124. 1.  A new toggle switch is available Options, Toggle, EXTENTS.  
  125.     If EXTENTS is OFF, then an Image, All command sets the viewing 
  126.     window based on the scale/drawing border.  If it is ON then Image, 
  127.     All sets the viewing window based on the calculated extents of 
  128.     the drawing elements.

  130. 2.  When File selection dialogs are displayed, a file may now be 
  131.     selected by quickly double clicking the mouse left button, or 
  132.     pressing ENTER twice, while highlighting the file.
  133.  
  134. 3.  UNDO is no longer limited to Edit, Delete operations!  
  135.     Furthermore, multiple UNDOs are now possible.  Created/Modified 
  136.     elements are placed in an UNDO buffer.  By repeatedly selecting 
  137.     UNDO, you can now Un-Draw, Un-Move, Un-Delete and in general 
  138.     reverse any previous action.  When the UNDO buffer is full, new 
  139.     actions get added to the buffer, while the 'oldest' ones get 
  140.     eliminated.  The user may PURGE the UNDO buffer at any time.  
  141.     CAUTION:  When the UNDO buffer is purged, any operations prior 
  142.     to that point cannot be UNDONE!

  144. 4.  Wild cards may be used when specifying file names/extensions in 
  145.     file selection dialog windows.
  146.  
  147. 5.  When entering RELATIVE coordinates, if a third coordinate (Z) is 
  148.     specified then X and Z are interpreted as isometric coordinates, 
  149.     based on the current ISO angle (default is 30 degrees).
  150.     
  151. 6.  Hex print density on 24-pin printers is now supported (the print  
  152.     densities are:  Low:60 dpi,  Med:180 dpi,  High:360 dpi). 
  153.  
  154. 7.  The maximum dot line buffer was increased to 4680 in order to 
  155.     support hex density on 24-pin, wide carriage printers, i.e., max 
  156.     image width = 13" x 360 dpi = 4680 dots. 
  157.  
  158. 8.  The user is now allowed to specify the Dots Per Inch (dpi) 
  159.     parameter in the image specification window for finetuning the 
  160.     performance of dot matrix printers.
  161.  
  162. 9.  When specifying hatching patterns, in the DC.PAT file, the 
  163.     horizontal and vertical displacement is indirectly, tied to the 
  164.     drawing units through the 'SPACE' parameter in the Option, Style, 
  165.     or Alter, Style sub-menus. 
  166.  
  167. 10. A new option is available under Measure, Dimension, Setup.  This 
  168.     new option specifies that there will be no dimension line drawn 
  169.     and that the dimension will be placed parallel to the second end 
  170.     point specified. 
  171.  
  172. 11. When importing VALUE files, if a third coordinate (Z) is specified 
  173.     then X and Z are interpreted as isometric coordinates, based on 
  174.     the current ISO angle (default is 30 degrees), and relative to the 
  175.     X=0, Y=0  origin.

  177. 12. The Pick windows used in the Layers, Device, Image Views, etc.,  
  178.     have been given a slightly different look (for example, than that 
  179.     shown on page 4.10-1 of the printed manual) although functionally 
  180.     they remained the same.
